‘Changemakers’ is a program which leads to developing the ability of self-defense in young college going girls. As the safety issue of college going girls is becoming crucial day by day; expecting protection only from family and society is not enough. It is necessary to depend on own capacities and to learn this ‘Self-defense’; training of selfdefense sessions were organized under ‘Changemakers’ program.

“ Gravittus Foundation organized this program in association with Pune City Police and Pune University’s NSS scheme. 174 colleges were selected for this program. Under this program, it is not possible to go to every college and conduct the training session. So, the concept of Team-leader is implemented. 10-12 girls got selected from each college for the training session

Everyday these college team-leader girls got ‘self-defense’ training at Shivaji-Nagar police head-office. Almost 2000 girls were trained under this
program. These girls experienced Physical, Psychological and Intellectual development after attending these training sessions. Then, these teamleaders went to their respective colleges and trained other college girls. Social Activist, Ms. Vidya Bal, Ms. Gitali V. M. were the guest speakers of the program.

AS ‘SELF-DEFENSE’ TRAINING PROGRAM GIVES COURAGE AND CONFIDENCE TO YOUNG GIRLS; IT DEFINITELY HELPS THEM TO FIGHT AGAINST ANY FORM OF DISCRIMINATION. THUS, THIS ACTIVITY SERVE THE ABOVE MENTIONED GOAL.
